2) Walla Walla County, WA History facts
-Walla Walla County was one of the first areas in the region between the Rockies and the Cascades to be permanently settled.
-The Washington Statesman, now the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin, began publishing in 1861, making it one of the first newspapers between the Missouri River and the Cascades.
-Washington State's first constitution was ratified in Walla Walla County.
-The first bank in the State of Washington, Baker Boyer National Bank, established in Walla Walla in 1869, is still located at First and Main Street in Walla Walla.
-The area's first railroad service opened in 1891 as the Walla Walla/Columbia Railroad.
3) Wauconda Cemetary - Elsie Hamiltons' sister and Grandfather
Buried in the Wauconda Cemetary is Elsie (Galloway) Hamilton's baby sister Effie who died in 1906. Elsie's mom felt she had to leave her husband Charlie Galloway and left Elsie in the care of grandma Galloway and Effie in the care of grandma Ramsey. Effie died of crib death shortly thereafter. Grandma Mary Ramsay's husband James had died in 1904 and is also buried in the Wauconda Cemetary. James was remembered as a dark skinned Scot with red hair and whiskers. He had a honest hard working reputation and was an old indian scout. James was born in 1832 (Actually, according to the 1900 Census he was born in September 1831) and held a timber claim in what is now Seattle before moving to what is now Buckley, WA and making a good living growing hops. They moved to Wauconda to escape the coastal weather believing it to be beneficial to their second child, Johnnie's health. (posted by Glen)

Website of Virgil Ross Hamilton, Jr. Virgil is the son of Virgil Ross Hamilton, Sr. who was the son of Wilbur Ross Hamilton, the son of Judd Hamilton, the son of Supplina Hamilton. (posted by Glen)
6) William McCord Hamilton and Rosa L Porter Marriage Record: 4-20-1879
William McCord Hamilton (b. 1834 in Illinois) married Rosa L. Porter in Cass County, Iowa on April 20, 1879. William was one of Supplina Hamilton's younger twin brothers, William and James. William moved to the Endicott, Washington area late in life and died there in July of 1903. William had been wounded in action in the Civil War.
